Season 4[]
Episode 41[]
The Southern Poison King, Huandu Qingtian, saves his daughter Huandu Luolan from Lady Heihu. Bai Qiuen appears from the ground with the Wangquan Blade breaking the Heihu's defense. Yaya begins a showdown with Lady Heihu. Back in Tushan, the Yiqidao League help fend off the Heihu invasion, but then confront the powerful leader of the spirit kings: Baiyao Mojun. Qingtong holds Mojun down, buying time for Wang Fugui to escape. However, Mojun overpowers Qingtong and is about to absorb her, when the legendary demon slayer Wangquan Fugui returns with the Wangquan Blade.
Episode 42[]
Mojun is defeated from shock at the sheer power of the Wangquan Blade. Turns out that Wang Fugui was merely using an illusion. Meanwhile Bai Yuechu wakes up with Susu. Zuoshi is losing to Fan Yunfei and Huangpu Zhangyi. Beishan Yaodi is frozen but then Bai Yuechu starts melting Yaya's ice with Pure Flame of Yang to pick-pocket Shikuan. With Shikuan partially melted, Zuoshi is able to shout to Shikuan, saying that if he continues to play dead, he will never see her again. Shikuan breaks out of the ice, ready to destroy the Kuqing Tree.
Episode 43[]
Shikuan heads for the Kuqing Tree but then battles with Bai Yuechu. A woman with 6 ears watches from afar. Meanwhile, Susu reveals more on his past love with the Yuyao Princess. Turns out that his lover left him for another man in a previous life and found another man in this life as well, making him double cucked. This is why Shikuan is pissed and takes out his anger to attack Tushan.
Episode 44[]
After viewing his beloved's marriage to someone else on television, Kuan gets even more pissed off. Since he is unable to directly deal with the Void Tears, Kuan dodges around in a special pattern, running in a circle, fooling Bai Yuechu and infusing the Void Tears with his own Qi. Shikuan ran in a circle, dodging Bai's Void Tears which makes holes in the ground in a special formation. He then punches one of the Void Tears, sacrificing his arm, but is able to use it to control the Void Tears in the holes in the ground via his special Yuyao Catching Technique (御妖之国的擒宝之法). He fires the Void Tears back at Yuechu. Yuechu then fires a Void Tear as well.
The two streams of Void Tears collide forming a pool of tears in the air which veers off course toward Susu. Susu panics, but then hears a voice in her mind (the six eared woman Liuer Mihou from before) that tells her to use her hands to repel the Tear as the Xukong Zhilei is her and Yuechu's fabao. She is able to catch it with her Invincible Claws and starts playing with the Void Tear puddle, bouncing it up and down.
Shi Kuan flies off toward the Kuqing Tree intending to destroy it so he can be released from his Pledge of Love. Bai Yuechu follows, but runs out of Qi having exhausted it in their fight earlier. Susu decides to help and throws the Void Tear toward Kuan. He gets sucked in as the Tears bend spacetime, shortening the distance between them. Unfortunately Susu's inexperience also gets her sucked toward it. As he is about to collide with the Void Tears, Kuan recalls a forgotten memory of the Yuyao Guo Princess and realizes that not all of his memories have been recovered--the Heihu wiped away some of his memories. Bai Yuechu steps in before the two can be sucked in and uses the Qitun Tiandi (气吞天地 Heaven Earth Devouring Skill) to swallow the Tears whole becoming extremely fat.
A Shadow Fox has been hiding in Kuan's body and making him forget his memories. It begins mocking Bai Yuechu's current obesity (now barely able to stand up straight), but Yuechu vomits the Void Tear back out at the Shadow Fox, tearing a spacetime hole right through her. The Heihu dissipated, Susu uses Memory Powder on Shikuan (who is now cooperating) to make him recover more memories.
In his past, a rebel yaoguai army attack Beishan. The yaoguai say that Shikuan is a yaoguai and question why he is defending humans. Shikuan says it is to make sure nobody can stop Yuyao Princess' marriage.
Episode 45[]
Many years ago in the North Mountain, there was a country called Yuyao Guo that invented special vodoo-like charms known as Zimu Fu (子母符 Child Mother charm) to control spirits. By forcing a spirit to swallow the Zi Fu (child charm), humans could coerce a spirit into doing their bidding, the human simply had to burn the linked Mu Fu (mother charm) in order to kill the spirit. Yuyao Guo thus controlled many spirits through these charms.
Because of his strong body and powerful bone structure, Shi Kuan was taken as a child slave to be a body guard for the royal family of Yuyao Guo. There he met the princess who began calling him Akuan (making him name more endearing), and he fell in love with her smile, and her smile became his only motivation for training. His only wish was to protect her forever.
She secretly took him to Tushan to make the Pledge of Love, but later on as adults she betrayed his hope by marrying someone else. Her advisers thought it was strange for her to marry a few days before a rebel yaoguai attack. Before her marriage the country suffered a number of yaoguai rebellions, and she asked Shikuan to protect her during her wedding. He single-handedly defended the palace gate with his incredible strength and strong formidable Qi. However, a skeleton master took control of all the yaoguai's Mother charms and threatened to kill the yaoguai if they did not kill Shikuan. They charged, telling Shikuan to give up since Yuyao Princess already chose another pretty boy, but despite the yaoguai's overwhelming numbers, Shikuan destroyed them all.
The princess then finished the wedding ceremony and returned to the gate, going against the plan for her to escape while Kuan held off the rebels until he was spent of his strength. She confronted the rebel leader telling him he was a hypocrite to use the Zimu Fu to fight against the practice of Zimu Fu. The princess's handmaiden returned with news that her husband had escaped, and the princess explained she had returned to save Kuan and give him a gift, pulling out his mother charm and offering it to him. Before she could do so her handmaiden stabbed her from behind.
Episode 46[]
The princess's handmaiden grabbed Kuan's Mother Charm and gave it to the leader of the rebellion, revealing she had been a mole working for the rebels. Kuan tried to stem the princess's bleeding wound, but knew she had only a few minutes to live. She the told him a secret and a story before she died, recounting how Kuan had become too focused on protecting his charge to think of love between them ever happening and she realized that because he was a slave in her country he felt unworthy of marriage.
The leader of the rebellion tried to kill Kuan by burning the mother charm, but there was seemingly no effect. Kuan began to recite the incantation the princess had told him. He then ordered his soldiers to kill Kuan, burning their charms to motivate them, but that also had no effect.
The princess then explained that the secret incantation she had told him could undo the Zimu Fu, which the 18th ruler of Yuyao Guo had discovered after he fell in love with a female spirit and spent his whole life researching a way to undo it. The 18th ruler was considered a traitor for doing so, but his method was recorded and only made known to those who ascended the throne. That is why a few days before the rebellion, the princess quickly found a consort to marry so she could ascend to the throne, learn the method, and then use it to end the yaoguai rebellion by freeing them, at last freeing her beloved Kuan.
She had returned, unable to bear the idea that Kuan would die for her when she could save him. Because he freed all of the fellow enslaved spirits, they made him their king. Yuyao Princess then bestows on him the title Beishan Yaodi, Huimie Tianjun.
Episode 47[]
As the princess lay in his arms dying, he says he does not want to be king but run away with her far away. She says she wishes he said that years ago, then it would have been wonderful. However Kuan never revealed his feelings because of their difference in status. That is why she had to free him so he would no longer be a slave. However, she reminded Kuan that perhaps it wasn't too late for them since they had made the Heart Oath in Tushan and would be able to be reunited in her next life and he should spend his time making a country where spirits and humans could live in harmony together.
Back in the present, Kuan had memories of his beloved restored and Susu celebrated her matchmaking tools at last being successful. Zuoshi then mocked Bai Yuechu and Susu, since he had already been given control of Kuan voluntarily and ordered one of his Shadow Fox assistants to posses Kuan since Yuechu could no longer stop him having exhausted all his energy. Susu then grabbed the Shadow Fox, shocking Zuoshi who could not understand how she was able to grab the spiritual body of the Shadow Fox. Yuechu then jumped on the back of the Shadow Fox and ate him up with his Spirit Devouring Move. Zuoshi was surprised since Yuechu must have learned that move from Aolai Country, but threatened Kuan that if he did not fight off Yuechu he would never have a chance to see his reincarnated lover again, threatening to kill her right then and there.
Before Kuan could decide what to do, Yuyao Princess appeared, asking him if he still lacked the courage to be with her. Susu wondered how the princess had managed to live so long, and Yuechu questioned whether it was really her as Zuoshi shouted it was an illusion. However, Kuan declared it was unmistakably her aura. The "Princess" then threw a magic item on the ground which pulled the real reincarnated princess along with the Shadow Fox working to seduce her onto the ground beside them. Yuyao tells her reincarnated self that the Heihu was merely seducing her to follow his master's orders. The reincarnated Yuyao disgusted slaps that Heihu.
The faux princess then transformed, her aura becoming that of the six-eared spirit, Liuer Mihou, whom Zuoshi recognized with fear. Zuoshi then grabbed his lackey and flew away. Liuer allowed him to escape, telling Yuechu he was still young and there was no need to be bloodthirsty patting him on the head before leaving to take care of business.
The real reincarnated princess and Kuan were then reunited, her memories also restored by Liuer's Memory Powder. The princess then tells Kuan that she missed the hairstyle he had back then.
Liuer then visited Rongrong who was unsurprised to see her in Tushan, having discovered her presence earlier. Yaya then appeared freezing Liuer's fruit, mad that her boss thought she would lose and had sent her. Liuer explained it was a misunderstanding and the Third Master of Aolai (Sandi 三弟) was certain Yaya's strength exceeded the Shadow Fox Empress and says that she had only been sent to look into the situation and report back as well as bring gifts and medicine in case of injuries. Yaya then regretfully admitted that while she had not lost, she hadn't won either, the Empress disappearing just as Yaya had thought her suppressed.
Meanwhile the Empress, half covered in ice from her fight with Yaya met back up with Zuoshi who was confident she would not lose since she possessed half of the Void Tear (the other one). Their plan had succeeded despite her near defeat at Yaya's hands, because Honghong had begun to awaken within Susu, moving them a step closer to obtaining the complete Void Tear. Zuoshi assured the Empress that Aolai was no threat to their plan due to their leader's sentimentalism.
Episode 48[]
Cuiyu Ling healed Kuan's arms, though one was still crippled from the Void Tear and he would never be able to fully use it again. However he says that is ok as one arm is enough to protect Yuyao Princess.
Wang Fugui wanders in a nightmare before encountering his past self, who told him he was not afraid of spirits, but ashamed because he had once slaughtered so many of them, and his guilt made him afraid of spirits. Qingtong and Wang Fugui Yeye overlook him tossing in bed, hoping he gets better for the Daoist league.
Bai Yuechu is enjoying a delicious meal as a reward for his work and is in heaven eating plate after plate. Above, Yaya and Rongrong discuss Aolai's possible involvement in helping Yuechu since he appears to have learned his devouring move from them. Rongrong says it does not really matter if Aolai wants to teach Yuechu as long as he cooperates, but the real difficulty is he would not go along with their plans, and they have to keep coaxing him to do what they and the Yiqidao League want.
Yaya then tells Yuechu that if he marries Susu they will forgive him of his massive 100 million yuan debt to Tushan. Rongrong is surprised when he agrees without a fuss. However Susu says she does not want to get married, but Yaya flashes her red eyes and says: who cares what you think.
All of Tushan begins celebrating the wedding they have been waiting 500 years for. Despite the happiness around him, Yuechu is bothered that Susu did not want to agree to be married. A Fox Spirit explains to him that if she gets married, Susu will lose her connection to the Kuqing Tree, will not be able to be a Matchmaker anymore, and will become a plain fox spirit with no more powers.
After seeing Susu's unhappy state and remembering her desire to become respectable like her sisters, Yuechu realizes he is doing the wrong thing by ignoring her dreams. As the two enter the beginning of the wedding ceremony, with the other spirit-human couples they have reunited looking on, Yaya imagines they are Dongfang Yuechu and Honghong.
They begin walking down the aisle and Bai Yuechu asks Susu if she still wants to be an exceptional matchmaker. For a long moment she says nothing, Yuechu telling her to speak quickly before it is too late. She finally speaks up, pulling off her veil and declaring that she wants to be the best Matchmaker instead. She says since she was young people viewed her as worthless, so she wanted to prove herself by becoming the best matchmaker in the world. Bai Yuechu then bites his lip and kisses her. Yuechu then explains that she agreed to their requests because she did not have power to resist, but now she will.
Susu then transforms into Honghong from the Dongfang blood and escapes. Yaya tries to pursue, but Dongfang Yuechu holds a knife to his own throat and tells her he will kill himself and every reincarnation afterward if Yaya doesn't allow Susu to do as she wishes. He explains that Yaya's plan to get the complete Void Tear will not work, since the Pledge of Love needs reciprocal love and he will woo Susu for that, but the mere ceremony of marriage will not accomplish that. Yaya sighs, realizing that the two are still as temperamental as 600 years ago.
At the end of the episode, what appears to be Bai Yuechu and Susu are allowed into Yaya's ice chamber. She says: "Let's discuss our enemies. They can be considered Fox Spirits."[1]
