Bai Yuechu, still on the run from the Yiqidao League, is hiding out in a park. His friend, Hu Weisheng, visits him to drop off a bun and inform him about a food sale that is happening that he cannot visit due to still having no money for food.
Secretary Xiao Li drops off Bai's payment for helping the Sand Spirit Fan Yunfei in Season 1 and quickly leaves. He soon discovers that the money that would have been paid to Yuechu has been claimed by the Tushan to pay off Yuechu's debt, and he's been left with nothing. Moreover, the Sand Foxes leave Bai with old ladies for heqin (和亲) marriage, whom Bai immediately teleports out of sight.
Bai Yuechu swears to get revenge on the Tushan by killing Fox spirits until they return his repossessed money. Tushan Susu than arrives on a giant rabbit named Tutu to visit him, and he attacks her, but she placates him with candy. Yuechu decides Susu had nothing to do with taking his money, but he can use her to sneak into Tushan to get his money back, get revenge on the Tushan Fox spirits, while also raising her to be his bride to foil the Yiqidao's plans.
Meanwhile several spirits have begun roaming the area looking for something. While heading to Tushan, Susu and Yuechu stop at a bun shop and Yuechu eats a bun laced with sedative made by his father Bai Qiuen. His dad then puts Bai in a sack and takes him to the Yiqidao for reward money, a mere 50 yuan. However, the bounty has been cancelled, but Bai Quien yells Wang Fugui's full name (which Wang despises), so Wang is forced to pays Bai Qiuen so that he could stop repeating his name.
Bai Yuechu is then freed from the sack, given 50 yuan too, and learns the Yiqidao League has suddenly decided to stop interfering with his life for some reason.
