A flashback is recalled: Qingtong first met the past incarnation of Wang Fugui when she was just a wee spider. The past Wang heals her wounds and is much kinder to yaoguai then the current Wang.
Yaya brings the group to Tushan. Yaya takes the old man from earlier aside to discuss their plans for Yuechu and Susu as well as the Yiqidao League's involvement with him. Yaya has decided to accelerate their plans, due to Tushan's enemy's recent activities. Yaya threatens to freeze the old man for doubting her abilities, when Rongrong intervenes. She then shows them a large frozen yaoguai behind a chamber door.
Meanwhile Wang goes to the Hongxian Jie or Cupid World building (红线界) to flirt with some women. Qingtong is seen submerged in the water, trying to reunite with Wang.
Susu takes Yuechu to a magic item repair shop in Tushan to have her Tianshu repaired. There they meet Susu's childhood friend Gu Xiaobei. Gu gets his grandfather to help. But then they realize it is the famous Chunai Tianshu.
Gu's grandfather explains that the Chunai Tianshu is an essential tool since it contain memories and information about couples' lives who have made the Pledge of Love and can help Matchmakers get the spirit human couples back together in their next life. Yaya was upset Susu has this particular book because it once belonged to someone very close to Yaya.
The shop keeper is surprised to learn how the supposedly indestructible book was cut in half with Yuechu's Xukong zhi Lei. Gu and his grandfather then realize who Bai Yuechu really is (the only one who can wield the power of the Xunkong zhi Lei). They wants an autograph with him, and they says Bai does not yet realize who he is.
A nearby explosion interrupts them. It was caused by Wang Fugui as he was trying to kill Qingtong out of his hatred for yaoguai.
