The Yiqidao League discuss their defeat at the Tushan's hand once again. One of the wiser Daoists points out that, despite attacking the Tushan many times, they have never had anyone die from the assaults. Tushan has continually shown them mercy. Back in Tushan, Dongfang and the others make a gravesite for himself and Yumian Fengjun.
When asked if he has any family left, he explains that his aunt Dongfang Huaizhu marries into the Wangquan clan, and she and his mom Dongfang Qinlan change their name to escape Huoshen's advances. Huaizhu then gives birth to Wangquan Fugui, and she and her sister are sacrificed so that Wangquan can become the ultimate demon-slaying Daoists.
Honghong asks what Dongfang would like in return for saving them and Tushan. Having had enough of humans, he explains he wants nothing more than to stay with Honghong forever.
Time goes by quickly and Dongfang is soon an adult and has learned a lot from his new Tushan family. Yaya and Rongrong try to stop the now adult Dongfang from leaving Tushan to join the Yi Qi Dao League, surprised he would want to go back to the people that had mistreated him so much in his childhood. Honghong returns to Tushan as he is about to leave and while hesitating to allow him to leave, gives him his choice. At the last moment Dongfang explains that he is leaving because of "that" incident. Yaya has no idea what he is talking about, but Rongrong seems to know.
The scene returns to the night before the duel between Dongfang and Honghong. Dongfang explains to Yaya, that he left because he wanted to fulfill Honghong's dream. She demands to know why he won't believe Tushan isn't the perpetrator for the crimes they are accused for. He explains that he and Honghong, while both leaders, have no power to influence the organizations they belong to, being mere figureheads. Thus they cannot convince them that Tushan is not responsible.
