Baiyao Mojun's minions are scared off when the man carrying the blade declares himself to be Wangquan Fugui. At first Mojun is scared, but then declares it must be fake since he saw Wangquan Fugui die at the hands of the Shadow Fox Empress many years ago. The man then declares that he is the reincarnation of Wangquan Fugui and that Baiyao Mojun is a fool not to recall that Wangquan Fugui made a Pledge of Love. He scrapes his sword against the ground causing an explosion of energy and explains that the only reason he is still alive is because Wangquan Fugui never gave an evil spirit a quick death after leaving the Wangquan Family. This statement begins to scare the spirit king, but he still hesitates. The man decides the spirit must be convinced by experiencing the Wangquan blade for itself. The Wangquan blade's ultimate power (becoming a huge many story tall sword) terrifies Mojun, causing him to foam at the mouth and faint before Wangquan can strike him.
The man then transforms back into Wang Fugui, and he reveals that he used a magic weapon, the Dress Up Staff, that can transform one's appearance and itself into any likeness to fool Mojun--because Wang did not having any other magic weapons on hand to fight back himself. It is revealed in a flashback that he hesitated until he heard Qingtong's cries for help before getting serious. Fugui then faints from the effort of causing the illusion. The other leaders of the Yi Qi Dao League then show up and Qingtong asks them why they didn't help.
Wang Fugui's father reveals that the spirit they just fought was famous for being able to absorb spirit weapons as well as other spirits to become more powerful and was deathly afraid of the Wangquan Blade when he attempted to swallow it several hundreds of years ago and it pierced his belly causing him great pain. They thus didn't want to risk losing their valuable pricey magic weapons to him. Wang Fugui's grandpa then recalls why Fugui is so weak and has no spirit power. It is because he transferred it to Qingtong when he first met her. Wang Fugui then proceeds to beat up his grandfather, who cries out 'grandson, put filial piety first!'
Meanwhile Bai Yuechu wakes up with Susu sleeping on top of him waiting for him to wake up from his trip with Rongrong to the dream realm to rescue her earlier. Zuoshi is losing the fight to Fan Yunfei and Huangpu. Beishan Yaodi is frozen but then Bai Yuechu starts melting Yaya's ice using Pure Yang Flame, planning to pick-pocket Shikuan. With Shikuan partially melted, Zuoshi is able to shout to Shikuan, saying that if he continues to play dead, he will never see her again. Shikuan breaks out of the ice, ready to destroy the Kuqing Tree.
