Yan's minions try to give him dating advice, and he eventually goes to confront the actor girl Miss Wen (who is playing as a female bailiff in the play) giving him so much trouble. He claims that his current disguise is his true face and he came to help her with the play as requested as he can play any role using his face-shifting skill. She then introduces him to the male lead, who to his dismay is her boyfriend Xuezang.
He despairs thinking he has no chance to seduce her, when his minions point out that they got a picture of the supposed boyfriend cheating and kissing another red-head girl (Yemei) earlier that day, and they can use that as leverage to break them up and give Yan Ruyu a chance.
He then interrupts a practice rehearsal, having disguised himself Yemei. Yan Ruyu then reveals that Xuezang has been cheating on Wen using photo evidence of Xuezang kissing Yemei. Wen then slaps Xuezang away. Meanwhile, Yan seizes the opportunity and claims that he is the original "Thousand Face Playboy" (千颜采花大盗) and has fallen for the actor girl. He then brings out his trademark straw drink to attempt to steal her yaoli. However he suffers a flashback when the girl arrested him, and he becomes afraid.
Before he can fully collect himself, the cucked yaoguai now working for Bai Yuechu jump on stage and break the drink prop. Yan Ruyu calls for more drinks, but Bai Yuechu has beaten his minions and stolen all the rest of the backup drinks. This is an attempt to trick Yan Ruyu into thinking Bai Yuechu doesn't want him to get this girl's Spirit Power, thus making him try even harder to seduce the girl without his drink trick.
Meanwhile Wen's ex-boyfriend Xuezang tries apologizing to her. She refuses, he reveals himself as the Mouse Spirit Xuezang, says he has been trying to woo her for a week, and then abducts her by force. The red-head girl he kissed earlier reveals herself to be the Cat Girl Yemei and tells Mouse Guy to go easy on Wen. Wen breaks away and calls out for help, and several people hear her. Wang Fugui comes to the rescue, but fails when his expensive replica sword breaks. The Spirit Police and Wang Fugui's bodyguards are also killed by Cat Girl and Mouse Guy. Miss Wen is then captured and wakes up in a cave with several hostile criminal yaoguai arguing over her. Their boss, a large two horned dragon (Chilei), then tells them to shut up since they have awoken Wen.
