Wangquan summons his Wangquan Sword to hit Du Niangzi's hat, thereby freeing a spider, and then removing the curse on that spider. In present, Wang Fugui similarly summons the Wangquan blade and is about to counterattack Du Niangzi. But she seems to embrace this and is almost hit before an eight eyed man (Du Fuzi) jumps in to stop the fight. He reveals himself as Du Niangzi's alive husband.
Du Fuzi then explains what really happened before: he and Du Niangzi fell in love and were going to build a house. However, a Daoist from the Wang clan suddenly attacked Du Fuzi, but Du Niangzi took the blow for him, falling unconscious. Du Fuzi asks the Daoist to spare her, in exchange for turning into a spider trapped in her Golden Silk Crest hat. Du Niangzi then woke up, not knowing where her husband went, and thought the Wang clan killed him. So she swore revenge and hunted down Wangquan Fugui.
But when Wangquan freed the spider from her hat, Du Niangzi found that the spider was her supposedly dead husband Du Fuzi. They then worship Wangquan as their savior and benefactor. However, as Dongfang Yuechu explains overlooking the events on a cliff, uses the Wangquan Spirit Blade consumes Wangquan's life energy, thereby shortening his life every time he summons it.
Meanwhile in present, the couple Du Niangzi and Du Fuzi reveal that it was their plan all along to recreate and relive that euphoric scene from the past so that Wang could reveal his awesome Wangquan Spirit Blade. They thank Wang once again and heal his wife Qingtong's poison, saying she will recover her adult self in three days.
Suddenly, a mysterious golden spirit appears and says Wang Fugui has remembered too much too soon artificially. The gold spirit then takes away some of Wang's memories he said he shouldn't have. The gold spirit leaves, but otherwise Wang is fine after waking up.
