Turns out that Du Fuzi was behind the poison attack. He overwhelms the Daoists and captures Qinlan, while Huaizhu escapes. Huaizhu wakes up meeting the mysterious masked man with the sword (Wangquan Baye). Together they fly to find where Qinlan is imprisoned. This is where Du Fuzi was hiring slaves to build the star-wish tower (望星楼) for his lover Du Niangzi (as explained in Season 5).
Although imprisoned, Qinlan is able to use her Pure Yang Flame to coerce the guards to serve her nice meals. Meanwhile, the masked man is able to cut through the huge cloud of poison with his sword surrounding the construction site and prison, impressing Huaizhu.
