The Wangquan sword (王权剑) is an ultimate weapon (终极兵器:天地一剑) wielded by the strongest in the Wangquan Clan. It is one of Wangquan Fugui / Wang Fugui's most powerful weapons. It is the pinnacle of human achievement in developing magic weapons to fight Yaoguai and has destroyed thousands of them. It appears to have been lost sometime after Wangquan Fugui's time but is found again by Bai Qiuen. The ability to use it properly seems to depend on being a descendant of the Wangquan clan and learning a secret technique but also seems to have some sort of special connection specifically to Wangquan Fugui (and his reincarnations). To humanity, it also symbolically represents the power to defend themselves against Yaoguai and the ability to create and use Spirit Weapons, after having been hopeless against Yaoguai's strength in the early days of the world. It is said that heaven sent the Wangquan Clan as an answer to humanity's prayers for help against the Yaoguai (whether this is actually true or just a legend propagated by the clan to solidify their political position is not known).

Description[]

The Wangquan sword is also referred to as the 'Heaven Earth Blade' or 'Ultimate Blade of the Cosmos' (天地一剑) or Tiandi Yijian. The Wangquan Clan's Huangfeng City is famous for being the land of Tiandi Yijian. The Wangquan blade gets its power from precious spirit metal in the surrounding area. It is a bit unclear as to the exact difference between regular blades wielded by the Wangquan clan, and the unique blade famously wielded by Wangquan Fugui and found by Bai Qiuen (which has evidently been missing). It is instinctively feared by all Yaoguai, even by powerful ones like the Shadow Fox Empress or Huandu Qingtian. It is unaffected by Dongfang's Pure Yang Flame, unlike other Daoist weapons.

The Wangquan sword has the hanzi symbol (王权 meaning King/Royalty) gilded on the sword hilt.

Wangquan Fugui was in line to the throne and supposed to wield it. However, he chooses to save Qingtong instead. Through Dongfang's intervention, he later wields it as part of their scheme to reveal the Shadow Foxes.

The sword seems to be somewhat similar to the legendary sword Excalibur in English folklore (both are special magical weapons wielded by a King).
