The Yiqidao League (一气道盟 Yiqi Daomeng) is a group of Human Daoists that features prominently in the series. They are allied with Tushan, and their common enemy is the Shadow Fox Empress and her Shadow Spirits.
History[]
More than a thousand years ago before the story's current time, all the people who followed Daoist sects teachings established an unprecedented alliance: the Yi Qi Dao League. The human king's lineage also makes up its ranks. The League was initially formed out of a need for self-defense against the powerful Spirits that roamed the land which humans were incapable of contending with. They developed new methods of spirit power cultivation and magical artifices capable of harming Spirits, and giving mankind a fighting chance.
However, despite their success, the humans who made up the league were often more brutal and cruel than the Spirits they opposed. They often operated slave trade and killed Spirits mercilessly. The league was an enemy of the Tushan Foxes for many years and sent many crusades against them in an attempt to subject the powerful Spirit city state. They were especially opposed to the Tushan due to their Matchmaking services which many Daoists believed to be reprehensive. Many also believed the Tushan Foxes were blood thirsty savages who would swallow humans whole. The Wangquan family has served as the ally and servant of the Yi Qi Dao league for many decades. While other Daoist sects did exist, they were by far the most powerful and notable. Dongfang Yuechu is famous as one of its legendary leaders as is Wangquan Fugui.
In modern times, the League is now part of an alliance with the Spirit Union and forms a powerful wealthy governing body of Daoists who seek to promote order and peace in the world alongside their Spirt allies. Spirits are also welcome to join the League. The peace and harmony that now exists between the once former enemies is only possible due to Dongfang and Honghong's sacrifice and leadership. Much to Bai Yuechu's regret, the League has an arrangement with Tushan to ensure he marries Tushan Susu, which has kept him poor, unable to associate with other women, and constantly repressed.
